This weeks top song for wedding dance lessons near you!

Dressed up in white by CAL

Style: 4 beat or lyrical

Difficulty: Easy

One of my most recent couples have requested this song for their wedding dance lessons, and I have no idea why I haven’t come across it before. I have also started using it in my dance lessons, including my Ballroom dancing lessons for adults and children.

This is because the beat is incredibly strong once it gets started: It follows a very slow 1…2…3…4… pattern which makes it ideal for the 4 beats style (A dance style of my own creation for wedding dance lessons and dancing lessons in general)

Also, the song has a really good structure: it starts very mellow for the first 40 seconds, with CAL singing on his own with very light guitar strumming to the 1…2…3…4… beat. This is a perfect length of time to choreograph a nice introduction for a first dance, which can include lots of elegant opening out movements, a subtle lift or dip, or some solo work.

The beat becomes more pronounced after 40 seconds, and the song builds gradually in volume for the next chorus and verse, where I would teach the main section of a first dance, usually making a complete circuit of the dance floor using the 4-beat dance style which comprises of some really easy, but very difficult looking steps that are very wedding dress friendly.

The beat is also very easy to learn, so teaching rhythm to couples doesn’t take up a lot of time during my dancing lessons.

At around 1:08, the song is getting stronger and building even more until around 2:06 where there is a nice acoustic guitar solo. This is a great moment to add an ending to a first dance. This could include a lift or drop, and this could serve as a signal to your DJ to start the disco - and any willing guests to invade the floor and join you!

However, if you wanted to learn a wedding dance or first dance to cover the entire song, there is another minute of the song left and the beat remains strong throughout. So, you can complete another circuit of the dance floor, or I can deliver some dancing lessons to your family and friends to come and join you for the rest of the song.

I have listed the lyrics below, and they speak for themselves regarding how apt they are for wedding dance lessons. Lines like, ‘Tonight I’m gonna make you my wife’ ,and,‘Baby I’m gonna love you for the rest of my life’ are obviously perfect for a first dance.

So, for wedding and first dance lessons, it has perfect lyrics, an easy beat to follow, and an excellent song structure. It ticks all the boxes for dancing lessons for engaged couples. I also use the strong beat in my dancing lessons in general, including ballroom dancing lessons, as a way of teaching rhythm. It’s a real winner in my book and I’m so glad it has been recommended to me.

I will certainly be recommending this song to future couples who want dancing lessons for their wedding, civil partnership, or other special occasion in the future.

As far as heartbeats go It's beating right out of my chest As far as prayers go Oh damn it baby I feel blessed As far as loving you When you know I’m a little obsessed As far as moments go This is one we'll never forget

Baby i wanted this for as long as I’ve known 'cause i wrote this song a Long long time ago

And it goes...

I wanna see you all dressed up in white Baby I’m gonna love you for The rest of my life And i told you since i met you That you'd always be mine and one day i I was gonna make you my wife

Well baby tonight Tonight I’m gonna make you my wife

As far as feelings go This is the best feeling I’ve ever known As far as where I wanna be Well if you're there that's my home Everybody raise your glasses And hold them up high To the bride to the groom Everybody in this room I finally get to call you mine

Woah, I wanna see you all dressed up in white

Baby I’m gonna love you for The rest of my life And I told you, since i met you That you'd always be mine baby tonight Tonight I’m gonna make you my wife
